We are happy to announce the version 4.2 upgrade for Echo handheld tools and Echo Studio. We have been working hard to bring you an upgrade that is full of new features, improvements, and fixes. We aim to develop our tools to be as flexible and powerful as possible, while also keeping in mind intuitiveness. The new SW packages are immediately available in Enhancell Cloud.
The new features and improvements include a parameter description feature, a more practical Locking view, and an Echo Plus Cloud feature to add to the flexibility of our tools. Additionally, we have introduced an all-new scanning system, along with various other fixes and improvements. Moving forward, we will also be supporting the Exynos 2400 chipset. Find the full descriptions of these features on the upgrade list below!
Exynos chipset support
We are delighted to tell you that as of version 4.2 release, we will be supporting the Exynos 2400 chipset. The Exynos 2400 devices include the S24 and S24+ Europe phones and UK variants. Additionally, Google Pixel 9 also uses the Exynos 2400 device.
Echo Plus Cloud
Echo Plus Cloud feature enables easy and cost-efficient measurements with large multi-device configurations. No need for Bluetooth pairings, USB hubs, or other extra hardware. Echo Plus Cloud tolerates connection disruptions and recovers from them with no data or indoor waypoint loss.

Scanner measurement improvements
Scanner measurements configuration has been made plug and play in Echo One. When connecting a Scanbox or PCTel scanner, the scanner will automatically start a smart scan on the bands in use in the region/country where the Echo One is located. This is especially good for new users, making the scanner configuration plug-and-play. Users can interrupt the automatic smart scan at any time and choose a predefined scanner configuration as well.
Echo One smart scan band selections has also been improved. No need to scroll through long lists of bands, all bands of one technology are visible on one page, making the selection easier. The long list of all supported bands on the scanner is also shortlisted by default to show only the bands relevant to the region where the Echo One is used.

A new view has been added in Echo One and Echo Studio, displaying a cumulative list of all detected channels across all technologies from the beginning of measurements. The view also displays the time elapsed from the last detection of the channel. This aids with tracking spotty coverage of specific channels across the test route.

The Echo Studio scanner dashboard now features a Top-N filter, enabling users to display only the strongest cells per channel. The cumulative list of detected channels is also added to Echo Studio dashboard. The list also enables to filtering the displayed data to selected operators, technologies, bands, and channels using the checkboxes on the list. The table visualization has been enhanced with a mini bar chart.

Feature: Locking
As accustomed users know, the locking setting can be used to force the local device to operate only using certain network features. These settings will force the device to operate in a non-standard way. We have upgraded the locking view to a simpler and more user-friendly version with Select all and Clear all options.

Feature: A parameter description feature
Long pressing a metric in any view will open a popup window, and the title of the parameter will be displayed along with the options Show history and Show description. Pressing the Show description option will open a brief description of the parameter. The parameter descriptions have been added to the most important LTE and 5G metrics and will be expanded in the following releases. Parameter descriptions are also available as a separate document for easy reference.

Feature: Parameter history
Long pressing a metric in any view will open a popup window, and the title of the parameter will be displayed along with the options Show history and Show description. Selecting the Show History option displays the parameter’s past values along with the corresponding timestamps.
